Choice Project
Arts Walk
One thing that surprised me was how many people I ran into. It was packed. I enjoyed seeing all the artwork at East and listening to all the singers and band perform.
Portrait Project
Our Portrait Project required each person to photograph at least 3 portraits. One had to be in a studio setup, one outside, and one portrait of our choice. The purpose of this project was to learn tips when photographing formal portraits and teaching us how to correctly use things like lighting, composition, and minimal edits in CS6.
Choice Studio Outside
White Balance CS
This project had our group go to different areas of lighting and take a photo of a white piece of paper. White balance is how the camera adds cool or warm tones to compensate for lighting discoloring a photo. The purpose of this activity was to see how white balance works on our cameras. Some areas had a warm tone and some had a cool tone. The camera on auto mode made minimal white balance adjustments. When we take portraits in the future, I will want to adjust my white balance to fit the lighting so the skin tone of the subject is unaltered.
David Hockney Montage
For this project we took several photos to create a full scene. The purpose of this assignment was to take a series of photos that we could piece together and make into one large panoramic shot.
Panning
This project included panning photographs of moving cars. We set our camera to Shutter Speed priority and used 1/200, ISO of 400, and aperture of 5.6.
Motion Blur
This project had our group take photos with a low shutter speed. We captured the motion through slightly blurring the photo.
Stopped Motion Jumping
For this project we jumped in the air and captured the moment. We used high shutter speed to freeze the motion.
Sequential Narrative Project
The purpose of this project was to tell a story or show something with several photos. I can use techniques from this series of photos to help me capture the movement of someone or something.
Narrative Project
Our narrative project encouraged us to take photos that told a story. The purpose of the activity was to try and captivate a moment of a story.
History of Photography
This project required us to create slides about a specific point in photographic history. My specific slides were about the first photograph ever taken.
